Slam By Nick Hornby (Summer Reading)

It was a tuesday afternoon when i was walking through Barnes and Noble looking for a good book. I picked up Slam by Nick Hornby, thinking that it was about a kid who was into skateboarding. This is partly true, he is into skateboarding, but the plot has nothing to do with it. This book is about a boy who gets his girlfriend pregnant and ends up having a baby with her. While this is happening, he "talks" to one of the most famous skateboarders of all time, Tony Hawk. The thing that i like about this book is that the characters are so believable. Everything that Sam, the main character, does is exactly what i would do in his situation. I would give this book an 8 out of 10.
