About A Boy by Nick Hornby (Summer Reading)

Continuing with reading books by Nick Hornby, I decided to read one of his more popular books (it was made into a Major Motion Picture), About a Boy. Relating to what i said in my previous post is that the characters are so believable. Nick Hornby really has a knack for finding out the inner workings of human beings. The main characters in this book have so many problems and troubles that it makes you want to keep reading. There is a social outcast boy who has had his childhood taken away by his hippie, suicidal mother. There is an emo girl who always creates her own trouble. There is also a man who has nothing to do with his time except get high and listen to music. The story that brings these characters together makes a very beleivable book. I give it an 8.8 out of 10.
